Case Study: Community First Access to Care Campaign
Access to Care was a comprehensive 360-degree healthcare assessment that combined data from resident surveys, input from healthcare and social service providers, and feedback from policymakers into a snapshot to better understand the terrain of the healthcare landscape across Hawai‘i. Paʻakai developed promotional materials and deployed surveys to collect data from 3,287 residents and 324 healthcare providers over the course of six weeks. To engage participants Paʻakai created mailers, organized in-person engagement in local communities, facilitated a weekly prize drawing for survey participants, and deployed a social media campaign including influencer videos.
Once data collection and analysis was complete, Paʻakai convened healthcare, policymaker, and community groups to share out results and facilitate conversation about how to improve access to healthcare based on the findings.
